Join us to power the sustainable future.

Our Recharge Lab at Queen's University was officially formed on Canada day, July 1, 2025!

We believe that innovation thrives in a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences who share our passion for advancing rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion, sodium-ion, redox flow), functional materials, and sustainable synthesis and processing.

If you enjoy working in a chemical laboratory and want to contribute to building a cleaner energy future, we’d love to hear from you!
See below for opportunities at the undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels.

Undergraduate Students

Are you a Queen’s undergraduate looking for a summer research experience or a thesis project? We have exciting opportunities to work hands-on with cutting-edge battery materials.
If you’re interested, email hoang.dang@queensu.ca to explore potential projects.

Tip: For summer positions, consider applying for the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) — applications are usually due in early February.

Graduate Students

We’re always on the lookout for curious, motivated, and collaborative Ph.D. students to join our research on electrochemical energy storage materials and technologies.
If you’re ready to push the boundaries of battery research, send your CV, transcript (unofficial), and a letter of intent to hoang.dang@queensu.ca.

Postdoctoral Researchers

We currently have funding for one postdoctoral position and also welcome self-funded researchers who want to bring their expertise to our lab. Join us! We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in advanced energy storage, with a focus on anode materials and large-scale electrode coating for Li-ion and Na-ion batteries. Interested candidates should email the PI with a CV and research interests.
